[TSSIM] Chapter 486: Time to Listen to Some Music
Added 2025-01-07 20:26:17 +0000 UTCTwo days had passed, and finally, it was Friday.
During this period, a few things had happened.
First and foremost, the progress on Kanon had advanced to about one-fifth of the way through. Naturally, that was without anyone going all out—if they had pushed harder, finishing a third of it might have been possible.
After all, one route was already completed, which made it easier for Utaha and Nayuta to reference the world-building and character personalities. What they could do now was add small stories, one by one, to make the characters more vivid and well-rounded.
Additionally, the character designs were also finalized, and the illustrations had made some progress as well.
As for everything else?
Untouched!
All of that summed up the overall progress of Kanon.
On other matters, two days ago, Homura had taken photos of the swimsuits he had made and sent them one by one to the girls who hadn't received theirs yet, asking for their feedback.
As expected, everyone loved them to bits, including Ai.
Kaguya personally passed along the message that Ai particularly loved the swimsuit he had made.
Of course, Homura didn't dwell too much on whether that was true or not, since he figured Ai was someone who could manage her emotions well unless her mother was around.
As for Mya-nee, although her face turned bright red, she eventually agreed to accept the swimsuit he made.
However, whether or not Mya-nee would actually wear it, no one could guarantee, since he suspected she might end up wearing a full diving suit instead.
Lastly, there was the question of whether the little sisters of Mya-nee and Kuroneko would go.
To Homura's surprise, none of them were going!
Why?
It turned out their mothers opposed it.
Coincidentally, both of the mothers of Mya-nee and Kuroneko used the same excuse, something like not wanting the little sisters to bother him and the elder sisters or something.
Upon hearing their excuse, Homura felt like there was some hidden meaning in their words.
Even though the little sisters weren't going, another unexpected person decided to join.
Megumin, a.k.a. Jinno Megumi.
As soon as Megumin heard Sagiri mention going to an island for a vacation, she excitedly declared she absolutely had to go!
Sagiri, meanwhile, showed a rather strange expression—her face turned bright red and smiled in an oddly suggestive way.
Nonetheless, Homura didn't play favorites.
He ultimately made a swimsuit for Megumin as well, planning to find a chance to give it to her.
And that was what had happened over the past two days.

Toyogasaki High School.
At this moment, the entire school buzzed with lighthearted and excited chatter.
Why?
It was simply because the holiday had officially started!
"Megumi, let's go!" Homura swung his bag over his shoulder and called out to Megumi.
"Mm." Megumi responded softly.
As the two of them left the classroom, a wave of discussions erupted behind them.
"Hey, do you think Minamiya is dating Katou?"
"No way! You guys know Minamiya-sensei. Plus, isn't Katou-san in his circle? And there's Sawamura-san and Kasumigaoka-senpai in the same group. If he was dating someone, wouldn't those two be better choices?"
"Well, you never know. Yeah, they're gorgeous, but they're in different classes. Katou, on the other hand, is in our class, so she's the closest to him."
"Now that you mention it... isn't Katou kinda a rare beauty too? Damn! How did I not notice before?"
"Seriously... I didn't even realize she existed until recently, and now it's too late! Which guy would even have the guts to confess to Katou when she's practically glued to Minamiya these days?"
"Forget guts… just not feeling like crap would be an achievement."
...
"Ugh, I'm so jealous of Katou-san..."
"Heh, spring fever?"
"Shut up! Like you can honestly say you don't have even a tiny crush on Minamiya-san!"
"I wouldn't dare deny it! So what?"
"...Seriously, my best friend is actually this shameless..."
"Shameless? Meh, it's one of my few strengths, you know. Can't believe you just figured it out~"
"Gross~"
...
Some of the comments came from the boys, while others came from the girls.
Both groups, however, seemed to have an unspoken agreement to leave Homura alone and instinctively maintained a polite, distant relationship with him.
It wasn't that no one had ever tried approaching Homura with ulterior motives, but anyone who stood in front of him and saw his calm, smiling face would immediately find themselves at a loss for words, completely overwhelmed by the sheer pressure he exuded.
Such a natural aura eventually became known, and over time, things settled into the current state of affairs.
Simple, casual interactions were all that remained, and Homura never showed any signs of ignoring others either.
After all, who wasn't a fan of Minamiya-sensei?
If anyone wanted to see a more playful, silly version of him, couldn't they just check his blog?

At the school gate, Homura and Megumi stood in place, clearly waiting for someone.
Several minutes later, Eriri arrived first, followed by Utaha and Mya-nee, who arrived together.
"Yo, Mya-nee! It's been a week!" Homura greeted with a smile.
Hearing this, Mya-nee's mouth twitched.
Honestly, she couldn't be bothered to argue—he wouldn't change his habits anyway.
"It hasn't even been a week yet, has it?" Mya-nee said with a wry smile.
"From Saturday to Friday, isn't that exactly a week?" Homura counted on his fingers with a grin.
"If you take out the weekend, it's only been five days since you two last saw each other." Eriri chimed in while rolling her eyes.
At this, Homura clapped his hands.
"Isn't that perfect? Five working days make a week, right?"
Eriri: "…"
Utaha: "…"
Mya-nee: "…"
"Who even counts like that?" Utaha chimed in, giving Homura a sideways glance.
"Heh, let's go! Time to listen to some music!" Homura chuckled, waved his hand, and marched forward.
Seeing his antics, the girls shook their heads helplessly.
Even Mya-nee couldn't help but smile faintly, realizing that she might be getting used to spending time with this boy.
Nevertheless, she didn't dwell on it and joined the other three in following Homura.

Otonokizaka High School.
"Oh, as expected, Otonokizaka High is really different from other schools. At other schools, students rush out as soon as class ends, but here? Not only do the students stay in, but the parents are actually coming in." Homura remarked, finding the scene quite amusing.
"It's like a parent-teacher meeting..." Eriri quipped.
"Well, this is obviously way bigger than a parent-teacher meeting." Utaha remarked, shaking her head. "In normal parent-teacher meetings, usually only one parent would come, but this one, if they have time, everyone in the family would come if they could."
"Good thing Otonokizaka doesn't have that many students now. Otherwise, forget about finding a seat in the auditorium—there wouldn't even be space to stand." Homura sighed before continuing to walk. "Let's go. Sagiri and the others are definitely already there. We'd better hurry inside. If more people catch wind of this, it'll be a pain to get in later."
===
"Ehh... so many people..." Mya-nee said in a frightened tone, shrinking back a bit.
"Hmm, the seats in the back are all empty, but there's a crowd standing up front..." Utaha remarked, raising an eyebrow. "Not gonna lie, you don't see this often."
"Doesn't this just show that everyone genuinely loves Muse?" Megumi said, not looking surprised.
"Yeah, Megumi's got a point." Eriri nodded in agreement. "But the question is, where are Sagiri and the others?"
"They're probably at the very front. Let's go." Homura replied as he led the four girls, weaving through the crowd toward the front.
