[TSSIM] Chapter 489: My World, Your World
Added 2025-01-14 20:37:54 +0000 UTC"Well, our performance definitely ended, but what about someone else's show? Doesn't anyone expect anything from it?"
Saying this, Honoka winked with her left eye and smiled happily.
Homura: "..."
He suddenly had a bad feeling.
'Someone else's show? She's obviously talking about me, right?!' Homura's lips twitched. 'Tricked again, huh...'
"So, what do you think? Are you excited?" Honoka continued to stir things up.
""EXCITEEED—!!!""
Everyone yelled as loud as they could, making it seem as if the roof nearly flew off!
However, wasn't this supposed to be Muse's stage?
How was it that a guest performer was more popular than them?
Nevertheless, given the relationship between Muse and Homura, they didn't really mind, actually looking forward to seeing what kind of performance he would come up with.
"Since everyone is looking forward to it... let's invite Minamiya-sensei to the stage!"
Hearing this, Homura shook his head helplessly before opening his bag.
"I knew they'd trick me, good thing I prepared..."
Saying this, Homura pulled out a USB drive.
Girls: "..."
Didn't that mean he was just willingly getting tricked?
As Homura lightly jumped onto the stage, the audience spoke with each other.
"Good thing I prepared...?"
"Huh? Minamiya-sensei already knew it?"
Hearing their words, Homura smiled and joked.
"Duh, how many times has this kind of thing happened already? Of course, I knew this would happen again."
At this remark, both students and parents in the audience laughed.
Indeed, whenever Muse had a performance, Homura was always pulled up, so it would be strange if he wasn't used to it by now.
"Since you've already prepared, I'm sure you're going to surprise us even more, right?" Nozomi asked with a faint smile.
"Nope." Homura replied with a grin.
Everyone: "…"
What did he mean by 'nope'?
"Well, will one song really surprise everyone?" Homura asked, his lips curled into a slight smirk.
"One song? Which one? Even if it's an old song, Minamiya-sensei should still bring something new to it, right?" Kotori asked curiously.
"Nah, there's nothing new, special, or anything." Homura shrugged his shoulders. "It's just a song that's never been performed before."
Everyone: "…"
A new song?
If a new song wasn't a surprise, then what was?
Moreover, what did he mean by 'just'?
Everyone was silently complaining, but they couldn't help but feel a rising sense of anticipation.
"New song?! Why have I never heard of it before?!" Honoka couldn't help but ask in a hurry.
Hearing this, Homura's lips twitched.
"Bruh, of course, you never heard it. Why else would I call it a new song?"
""Hahahaha!""
Seeing the interaction between Homura and Honoka, the audience, though unsure whether this was all rehearsed, couldn't help but find it amusing.
"Is it a new song for a specific work?" Umi asked in wonder.
"It's got nothing to do with any of the current works." Homura shook his head.
"Well, that just makes us even more curious..." Nozomi chuckled.
"Everyone! Do you want to hear it right now?!" Eli shouted toward the audience.
""YES!!!" "
Hearing their response, Eli tilted her head playfully.
"Sadly, saying that to me won't help, since the star of the show is our Minamiya-sensei."
Audience: "…"
Girls: "..."
Homura: "…"
Did Eli just break her character?
Was Eli always this cheeky?
"Oy, are you seriously going to keep passing the buck like this?" Homura blurted out, unable to hold back his complaint. "Aren't you all supposed to be the main stars today? I'm just the one who's been forced into this, you know?"
"But you obviously had prepared for this..." Hanayo mumbled.
Everyone almost burst out laughing at her mumble.
"C'mon, Minamiya-sensei! I wanna hear the new song, nyaa!" Rin chimed in.
"Alright, alright, no more messing around!" Homura shook his head with a smile. "Who'll take this USB drive and give it to Fumiko? It's definitely her who's messing with the sound system, right?"
"Bingo~ You got it right!" Honoka flashed a V-sign at Homura before raising her hand with excitement. "Yosh, I'll go!"
With that, she grabbed the USB drive and dashed toward the sound control room backstage.
Fortunately, the sound control room wasn't far at all, and before long, Fumiko's voice came through the speakers.
"Minamiya-sensei, when do we start?"
"We start now! Follow my countdown." Homura replied while observing the audience. "I'll count three, two, one, and as I count down, you should silently count to zero in your head, then start when you get there. Understood?"
"Okay, no problem!"
A moment later, Honoka returned, making Homura nod, then started the countdown.
"Three..."
"Two..."
"One..."
Music started—
"I see the world started to shine~"
"All because everything is illuminated by your light~"
"Now it's my turn to give that flower a full bloom~"
"Let me gently protect you~"
===
What Homura sang was a song titled 'My World, Your World'.
How could one describe it?
It sounded great to everyone, regardless of gender.
For the girls, however, there was an extra charm since this song was originally from an otome-themed anime, so its target audience was naturally geared toward females. {T/N: Anime name: Magic-kyun! Renaissance.}
Nonetheless, considering this place was an all-girls school, Homura wasn't about to make his voice too soft or overly charming. He was afraid the girls would become crazy fanatics, blocking him from leaving.
Even so, the girls were still completely enchanted by Homura's performance, feeling as though they were floating away. It made them feel like this was the best song he had ever sung.
With the addition of the gentle lyrics, they were all lost in the song.
When Homura finished the song, the entire auditorium slowly filled with applause. What started with just a few claps gradually grew as more and more people joined in.
If one observed closely, they would notice that all the first applause came from the boys, while the girls were stunned and only snapped out of it once the applause broke the silence.
"Thank you for the applause. Looks like you all really liked this song."
Seeing the excited audience, Homura spoke with a smile.
"Guess my preparation wasn't in vain."
Upon hearing this, everyone's applause continued and grew even louder.
Meanwhile, Yukiho and Alisa, feeling a bit excited, were about to start clapping along with everyone when they suddenly heard a voice behind them.
"Mom... I think I've fallen in love..."
It was the muttering of a girl.
Yukiho: "..."
"Really? But I can't blame you... Mom seems to have fallen in love too..."
Yukiho: "?!"
Alisa: "!!!"
They were lucky they didn't hear any gritting of teeth.
If they had, it would have definitely meant the girl's father had arrived!
"Wait?!"
Yukiho quickly turned and looked toward her own mother.
When she saw that her mother was reacting normally, she breathed a sigh of relief.
