[TSSIM] Chapter 507: Anime Premiere of Fate/stay night

After dinner, Homura decisively made Honoka and the others drink another glass of vegetable juice.

Of course, he had a perfectly good reason for that.

"You girls were singing all afternoon, and don't you still have voice acting practice tonight? How can you not take care of your throats?"

"So, drink up!"

Surprisingly, the time they lost consciousness had shortened just a little bit, maybe because they were getting a little used to the effect of his vegetable juice.

As for the massage, it was already done before dinner.

Activity Room.

At this moment, Homura and the other eight were busy—four were working on the script, four were drawing, and, naturally, Homura, the last one, was handling everything else.

As soon as Homura finished his task, he checked the time and realized it was already close to 8 p.m.

"Okay, let's take a break. It's about to start."

"Oh? It's starting?" Elf stretched lazily while grinning.

"Yeah. Someone go call our voice actors. I'll set up the TV." Homura stood up and left the room.

He didn't plan on watching it through the TV broadcast because, even though both were live, watching it on a streaming site with live chat was way better—it made it feel like everyone was watching together.

Sometimes, there would even be some hilarious comments popping up, which was way more entertaining than just watching a plain broadcast.

Homura adjusted the TV, entered the live stream chat, and waited for the time to reach 8 p.m.

Surprisingly, the live chat was already flooded with comments, so to avoid ruining the viewing experience, Homura filtered most of them and adjusted the transparency, making it much more comfortable to watch.

"Ugh... I totally forgot. Today's the premiere of Fate/stay night, huh?"

Honoka walked in with Nayuta, saying something that made everyone speechless.

"It's your first anime voice-acting work, y'know..." Homura rolled his eyes.

"Ehehe..." Honoka scratched her head, looking a little embarrassed.

"Ara? Many comments already?" Elf couldn't help but be surprised. "How many people are watching?"

"Tens of thousands... and still rising..." Homura replied. "If we counted the TV broadcast—once it officially starts, just in Japan alone, there'll probably be two to three hundred thousand watching right away."

"So if we count the whole country... that means a few million is nothing?" Eriri was a bit shocked.

"Isn't that normal? It'll keep going up." Homura responded, not thinking it was a big deal.

He believed that after the first episode aired and word of mouth spread, hitting ten million would be easy.

"It's starting."

As soon as Homura finished speaking, the screen changed, and the live chat exploded.

[Comment 1: It's starting! It's starting!]

[Comment 2: Grab your seats, folks!]

[Comment 3: Holy crap, this animation’s insane!]

[Comment 4: Another Dimension's quality! I know the story already, but I’m still hyped!]

[Comment 5: Wait, does everyone here already know the story? No spoilers, please!]

[Comment 6: All hail my king!]

[Comment 7: Ah, just another peaceful day~]

[Comment 8: As we all know, the Holy Grail War’s totally a secret.]

"Heh, look at this comment. Everyone knows about the Holy Grail War already, so how's that still a secret?" Elf chuckled.

"Doesn't matter. Someone's in charge of wiping memories anyway. Once they're wiped, it's a secret again." Homura shrugged. "Kinda like those stealth games—just kill everyone who sees you, and boom, perfect stealth."

Girls: "???"

"Heehee, Rin feels like the comments are more fun than the anime, nyaa~!" Rin suddenly laughed.

Hearing this, everyone turned to look.

[Comment 1: It's him! Archer!'

[Comment 2: Yo, what an explosive entrance!]

Reading this, the girls burst out laughing since these two comments were spot on.

Supposedly a ranged combatant, but insanely good at close combat!

Knew everything, but played dumb like a pro!

If that wasn't Archer, who else could it be?

Soon, the music kicked in.

[Comment 1: Let's go! Eli sang the opening!]

[Comment 2: ELI-CHAAAN!]

[Comment 3: Never skip the OP!]

[Comment 4: LOL! Skipping the opening is wild.]

[Comment 5: Yo, this OP is a banger!]

[Comment 6: Certified banger!]

"Eli-chi sure is popular." Nozomi remarked with a smile.

"Isn't everyone the same?" Eli shook her head.

No one said anything else as they quietly watched the anime.

Around twenty minutes later, as the anime ended, Kotori let out a soft sigh.

"Not gonna lie, that was really amazing..."

"Yeah, just look at the chat—everyone was practically losing their minds." Nico nodded.

"Well, Fate's worth hyping up." Homura chuckled and shook his head. "By the way, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun starts at ten, so you girls better not stay up to watch it. You should be sleeping by then."

"Actually... it wouldn't hurt if we stayed up a little later~" Honoka blinked playfully.

"No way!" Umi shut Honoka down without hesitation. "Watch it tomorrow when you have time!"

"Umi-chan, you're so stingy..." Honoka mumbled.

Seeing this, Homura chuckled, feeling amused.

"Okay, it's time to pick the voice actors for Kanon!"

Homura clapped his hands and turned off the TV.

"So, anyone wanna nominate themselves?" Homura looked at the voice actors with interest. "I do have candidates in mind, but let's hear your thoughts first. It's not set in stone anyway."

Hearing this, everyone looked at him seriously.

"Aizawa Yuuichi—anyone wanna voice him?" Homura asked with a smile.

Upon hearing this, all the girls had deadpan expressions.

"Alright, guess I'll do it. Playing the straight man really takes some serious skill, huh." Homura shrugged. "Normally, male protagonists in visual novels don't have voices since it makes it harder for players to self-insert, but why are we even bothering with all these details for an all-ages version? Besides, we're aiming for an anime adaptation anyway."

"Homura, you're wrong!" Elf jumped in. "Plenty of visual novel game protagonists actually do have voices!"

"You mean those games where the protagonist looks so girly that nobody can tell he's a dude once he puts on a dress?" Homura's right eyebrow twitched. "What's more? Not only do they use female voice actors, but protagonists like that are all usually in R-18 games! What does that have to do with us?"

"Exactly. What we're after is emotional storytelling." Utaha nodded in agreement.

"Yup, we wanna make people cry." Homura also nodded.

"Wow... you're not even trying to hide your true intentions..." Elf's lips twitched.

"Ahem—anyway, moving on!" Homura quickly changed the subject. "Next up—Tsukimiya Ayu. Anyone interested?"

""Me!""

Exclaiming in unison, the two Kousaka sisters locked eyes.

Comments

I changed Penglai to Japan in this story, and if I remember right, Japan here is a province of a country called Huaxia that covers all of Asia.

VALRRR

“we count the whole country” I think this is the leftover part from the Penglai stuff at the start of the story, I think rewording this might be a good idea
