[AOTFL] Chapter 5: Orga Lux

Seidoukan Academy had a total of three buildings.

For the middle school, high school, and university divisions, the buildings were separated, encircling a vast central courtyard.

Including the student dormitories and other facilities, the entire academy covered an extensive area—larger even than some of the prestigious schools outside the city.

Zexuan walked through the high school building, which was the largest of them all, brushing past a few students who hadn't yet left. His destination was none other than the top floor of this building, where the student council office awaited.

'I didn't come to the wrong place, right?'

Standing in front of the student council office door, Zexuan took a moment to gather his thoughts, then reached out and pressed the alert bell next to the door.

Beep—Beep!

Following this beeping sound, a pitch-black display screen suddenly appeared in midair before Zexuan heard a voice.

"Hello, is there anything I can help you with?"

It was a cold, mechanical voice, unmistakably a pre-set AI response.

Zexuan slightly raised his brow.

"Hmm, this is kinda advanced..."

Muttering under his breath, Zexuan then gave a concise response.

"I'm Aoran Zexuan from the first year of the high school division. I'm here to apply for the use of an Orga Lux."

As Zexuan's words dropped, the display screen went silent for a moment.

"Please come in."

A moment later, a different voice came from the screen, but unlike the mechanical one before, this voice carried emotion and was easy to distinguish.

It was sweet, yet held a calmness that was hard to put into words.

Along with this sound, the automatic door in front of Zexuan slid open, revealing a room so spacious it was hard to believe it was a student council office.

Zexuan paused briefly before stepping inside.

He saw that the floor was covered with a dark brown carpet, and inside, there was a full set of leather furniture for guests, while the walls were adorned with a panoramic painting of Seidoukan Academy.

Needless to say, the whole setup looked incredibly luxurious.

At the far end of the office, the wall had been replaced with a massive glass window, offering a bird's-eye view of the city streets below—almost like staring at a giant model.

In front of that window sat a heavy oak desk with a girl seated behind it.

She was a girl with dazzling golden hair—though her long golden hair wasn't smooth, it flowed in thick, wavy curls. Not only did her entire presence exude a calm and composed aura, but she was also stunningly beautiful, so much so that Zexuan couldn't help but look at her.

He had to admit, she was definitely a certified beauty.

"Hello, I'm the student council president of Seidoukan Academy, Claudia Enfield. Welcome to the student council, Aoran Zexuan."

Introducing herself, the girl named Claudia Enfield wore a composed smile that perfectly matched her aura as she greeted Zexuan, who had just walked through the door.

Zexuan didn't respond right away but subtly sized her up with a glance.

'Hmm, so she's Claudia?'

Claudia Enfield was the student council president of Seidoukan Academy, and like Zexuan, she was a first-year student in the high-school division.

Unlike the 'plain and ordinary' Zexuan, however, the girl in front of him was widely known throughout Seidoukan Academy.

Not only was she the student council president, but she also ranked second among all Genestellars in the school. Her parents were also top executives of Ginga, which was one of the six companies of the Integrated Enterprise Foundation, making her the perfect example of someone with power, beauty, and family background—a true high-class young lady admired by everyone, known by all, and seen as untouchable.

She was also one of the heroines in the original work, and at one point, her popularity even surpassed that of the actual main heroine.

For Zexuan, meeting her here was basically like meeting a real-life version of a 2D anime heroine—an encounter that carried special significance. Thankfully, he had already mentally prepared himself beforehand, so he didn't embarrass himself.

"Nice to meet you, President Enfield."

Zexuan gave a slight bow and responded to Claudia with the same composed attitude.

"Just call me Claudia." Claudia clearly hadn't noticed Zexuan's earlier thoughts as she responded with a polite smile. "I've already received your request. You're here to apply for permission to use an Orga Lux, right?"

"Yes." Zexuan nodded calmly. "I heard that as long as you're a student of the academy, in theory, you can apply to the student council for the usage rights of an Orga Lux, so I'd like to ask for your help, Prez."

A so-called Orga Lux was actually a type of mana-based transformable energy weapon, just like a regular Lux, with the difference lying in the fact that while a Lux used a Manadyte, an Orga Lux used an Urm Manadyte.

Urm Manadyte was a crystal with far higher purity than a regular Manadyte and was extremely rare. Not only did it contain a tremendous amount of energy far beyond that of ordinary Manadytes, but it also granted certain special abilities.

Luxes made with Urm Manadytes were far more powerful than standard Luxes, and thanks to their special abilities, they could significantly boost the combat capabilities of their users.

Knowing this, Zexuan naturally set his sights on Orga Lux.

"Yes, technically, any student can apply to borrow an Orga Lux from the academy..." Claudia nodded at first, then suddenly changed her tone. "But as a student of this academy, Aoran, you should know that's just how it works in theory, right?"

"And one of the main reasons they do this is actually to gather data on how Orga Luxes are used. After all, Orga Luxes are different from normal Luxes since they choose their own masters, and not just anyone can use them."

Claudia shared a lot of information about Orga Lux, but Zexuan already knew most of it.

It was said that each Orga Lux had its own consciousness and would choose its own master. If it did not acknowledge the master, then it could not be used.

As Claudia patiently explained things to Zexuan, she also tactfully added another piece of information.

"Even though any student can apply to borrow an Orga Lux, due to their value, rarity, and unpredictable nature, the academy's review process is extremely strict."

"If you're someone ranked high in the academy or have done really well in the Festa, then your application might go through more smoothly, but Aoran... I think your chances of passing the review are pretty slim."

"Knowing this, do you still want to go through with the application?"

Hearing this, Zexuan understood that this student council president already knew everything about him.

Most likely, before he even came in, she had already looked into his background.

She knew his grades in Seidoukan Academy, and she knew that with someone as 'average' as him, even if he submitted an application, it would probably sink without a trace.

However, Zexuan had naturally already expected this.

"Please go ahead and apply for me." Zexuan said in an extremely calm tone.

"Alright..." Claudia could tell he wasn't planning to back down, so she nodded in agreement. "I'll submit the application on behalf of the student council. You can head back and wait for the result."

"Thank you."

Zexuan gave Claudia a slight bow again, then turned around, his back facing her. Thanks to this, she didn't see the sudden glint in his eyes once he turned away.

In the next second, Zexuan quietly and slightly triggered the power of the authority inside his body.

"..."

In that instant, a ripple of power, invisible to ordinary humans, radiated from Zexuan's body.

"Hmm?"

At the same time, Claudia's face, which had been calm and smiling just a second ago, changed slightly.
