For your consideration: community commissions
Added 2019-06-16 14:36:51 +0000 UTCSo, I'm thinking about doing something I'm calling 'community commissions' for my $5 and up patrons.
What the hell are Community Commissions?!
A community commission is a commission 'funded' by my $5 and up patrons. It is not funded with actual money. Instead, each month the patrons get a point to spend on a community commission. When these community commissions reach the point value needed, they will get drawn, like a regular commission.
Who decides the content of a community commission?!
For now, I do. To be as clear as possible, I will introduce each option with a thumbnail and short description to hopefully make it clear to everyone what they are spending their points on. There will probably be somewhere between 5 to 10 community commissions up for funding at any time.
I am thinking about introducing a $10 tier which gets two points to spend and who can collectively decide on one community commission for funding.
What happens when a community commission doesn't get funded?!
If a commission doesn't increase in point value for two consecutive months, I'm moving it to the danger zone. If a commission in the danger zone doesn't get any points in that third month, the commission is removed from the pool and any previously spent points on it will be refunded.
My questions to you:
Does this sound exciting? Do you want to engage with this system? Does it sound too complicated? I also included a poll for feedback: https://www.patreon.com/posts/27671954
Please ask me anything if something is unclear to you! I'm sure I forgot about some things and I want to make this as clear as possible.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out the best way to clarify everything. A small part of me just wants to develop a website for it, haha.
