Songs For A Better Future - 4th Anniversary (Part 3)

Hello guys, happy "Songs For A Better Future" day! ☺️

Today it's the fourth anniversary of the release of the album. It took me years to write some of the songs and 2 full years of intense work to arrange and record it, and the best part of it was that when I finally had it in my hands I felt proud and happy, because it was the first time I personally loved an album produced by me. This one I could hear it on my free time, just for pleasure ☺️

That may sound weird, but as a music producer I always tried my best to do what the artist needed, it's like haute couture, you design a beautiful dress, but you will never wear it yourself. You make decisions and put yourself in it, but all is in service to the other person, to make them shine, even if that means extracting your personal tastes from the equation. 

But this one was mine, and it was done without any pressure from any label or publisher influencing any decisions, I didn't do it to please them, I did it because I needed to prove myself I still had it in me to "come back from the dead" so to speak. To reinvent myself once again at a moment and in a circumstance no other could have survived.

That's why the first theme for the album art was this. It's a devastated world (my life) where a guy form the past (old me) that had some futuristic abilities (old me again, my music production technique was considered very advanced in the late nineties), gets ready to work again. More or less that was the thought. I also wanted to do an album that I would have liked to hear and enjoy in my teens to twenties, that spoke to me. I explained that on the book.

The first pic was the first one considered for the cover, the second was the first one proposed for the back cover (the third it's the complete artwork). The fourth pic is the complete cover idea artwork, and the 5th pic was done just in case was necessary. These were edited by me, then Pablo Vazquez did his magic and very soon delivered the cover we all know now.
