I Can See Through You (Showcase Mix)

Morning guys! This was the second new arrangement I did for the "Sabrosito Showcase" last November 26 in Puerto Vallarta for Qbo Bearwear.

As I've discussed here and there many times, I felt as if this song was left incomplete when I finished production of my second album "All Systems Go", mainly because I changed one bit of the lyrics (by listening to a well intentioned friend) and since then it felt a little dishonest. It's the bit I say "on him", where I should have said "in him". Little but important detail. 

Anyway, when the chance came to prepare a set of songs for this sunset gig, I had to choose this one, and since this showcases give you more freedom to sample and try different things one couldn't try on commercial releases (because of licensing and legal issues), I had the idea of using a big chunk of the Minnie Ripperton classic "Inside My Love" as the canvas for this new version. 

Using a very advanced AI tool Jose extracted the vocals for me from the original recording, and then I cut little pieces here and there, changed the tune and rearranged everything so it would work with the elements of my song. At some point the drum and bass groove you can hear at the end was going to be throughout the song, but I didn't have the time to make it work properly, so I decided to leave it just at the last part, where it didn't need so much notes and pattern changes (I had just one day to do this version). The vocals you'll listen here (as you did on "You Are The One" yesterday) are from the album version. I plan to re record vocals next year for a "sexy" project I want to release.
