Lets remember these two have a rather long history behind them (Not in a romantic sense, of course), and some of that past may start to affect the characters even more.
Like, we already had a Lizard girl literally dropped off a plane, so expect other surprises, and even some events that happened long ago in the story finally making a comeback.
