I'll Be Good (Demo 1)
Added 2020-06-10 15:58:31 +0000 UTCToday June 10th it's the anniversary of the release of my first single "I'll Be Good" on 2016. I thought it'd be nice to celebrate it sharing with you the very first demo I recorded of the song on March 6th 2016. I outlined de music and melody two days before, and recorded this first demo vocals and mixed the demo on the same day at home in Madrid (Spain). That was fast, indeed.
Mostly because I was very excited about the possibility of singing my own stuff on a music release for the first time in 21 years, and because every instrument and note I played, it made sense. I remember I sent this demo to Jose Spinnin and he encouraged me to finish it. The final version, the one that was released, was the 13th, but here you have, no makeup, the beginning. Enjoy!
Oh! I almost forgot. This cover pic was one of the options we considered before opting for the definitive one, more mysterious.

He was a glorious drag queen and told me a theory he had. He said we're all born with "slave names". This names weight on us and don't allow us to grow as we should. He told me I would know my real "free" name when I first hear it, and so it was. Benjamin is my real self, the first time in my life I feel free and compelled to be better. It's a new found freedom, and I only wish my friend would have lived to see this, he would have loved it, I know. It's for guys like him that we need to keep opening roads and hearts. <3
