Shine (First Demo 2017)
Added 2020-10-14 16:56:52 +0000 UTCI started working on this song on December Friday 1st of 2017. I had previously written the bass line and the chord progression, I think it was on 2015, but it was this day when I started working on it, after demoing “All Systems Go” the week earlier. I love Fridays, I don’t know why, Friday afternoons I’m always very inspired.
The song was born almost complete at once as you can hear here. I had some kind of enlightenment and although I was with a terrible cold, I managed to record the demo vocals that Sunday with my wireless Shure mic (the red one I use on my live performances), before spending most of the following week in bed with the flu.
Breaking that burst of inspiration did put the song on the vault until next year, when I was able to re capture the feeling and finish it, recording new vocals and polishing some of the instrument tracks. Although I was unable to add another verse. I was afraid of breaking the spell.
Bottom line: don’t ever interrupt an inspiration wave, you might never recover that primal thought.
