An Office Blog to End July - Kendra

Hello again Patreons!

This week we are working on Fan Friday, next month's Q&A, and some other end of the month/beginning of the month posts as usual. Mari and I put together a new chair for the office as well! I unfortunately wasn't here in the office last week. I did hear that filming the Jesse Makes Video Game Drinks was a blast though. I got to watch the video for it yesterday, and I think you all will enjoy it when it comes out this Friday. 

I can’t believe that summer went by so incredibly fast! The Cox Kids ™ and I were just talking about how none of us have been to the beach at all, which is just a shame! The great part about being an adult and It being California is that there is no “Summer vacation” and it’s hot enough to keep going to the beach until at least early September. So there’s still time! Personally, I am soooooo ready for Fall. It's about to be my favorite time of the year, and I need to start thinking about my Halloween costume.

Speaking of costumes and dressing up, I enjoy cosplaying! It has been a while since I've made a new costume unfortunately. The last convention I went to was Anime Expo 2019, where I dressed up as Emilia the Hero, with my Fiancé as King Satan, from Devil is a Part-timer. (which just started its second season after like 10 years!). It's not something I take super seriously, and is just a fun hobby to do every once in a while. 

Before that, some of my favorite costumes were my Sylvanas cosplay that I made in 2015, my Undyne cosplay from 2016, and my Sora cosplay that I designed in 2017, but was made by a friend from college (aside from the shoes which were me!)

A fun facts/tip about cosplays:

1. It was so hot the year I wore Sylvanas at Phoenix Comic Con that part of my costume MELTED, and I could only wear it one day.  I had to fix it up to wear it to Game-on Expo later that same year. So especially if you live in a hot state, I would not rely on hot glue to keep your costume together unless you have one of those extremely high temperature glue guns haha

I am definitely in the boat that cosplay is for fun, and is for everyone. Costumes don't need to be extremely accurate. It's about celebrating something that you're passionate about!
