My Birthday and The Making of the Man in the Ocean! - Office Blog from Kendra

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Here are some behind the scenes photos of the making of the man in the ocean for MCU crew yesterday! Jesse came into the office about an hour before the Podcast and said he needed aluminum foil and glue. Thankfully we stepped in before he super glued foil to his face. I grabbed a cardboard box, cut some holes in it, and taped his glasses to it so it would stay on his face. For being made the morning of I think we did pretty good!

It’s also been raining so much in LA! This morning I was stuck in traffic for almost 3 hours. Streets were flooded, and the freeway was a parking lot. I love the rain. I do not love driving in the rain.

The three hours of traffic was worth it though because the office surprised me for my birthday! I went to use the restroom before our Tuesday meeting and I was then trapped in the hallway on my way back. I thought for sure I was going to be killed. Just look at this shadowy figure blocking my only escape.

Turns out I was not going to be killed, but instead everyone was working together to light TWENTY regular candles and a number 8 candle on a cake so they could sing me Happy Birthday. You can see the look of shock and a little worry from how much fire was on the cake in this photo. I couldn't stop laughing to be honest. 

I am truly so thankful to work in an office where everyone is so thoughtful. I already told the guys this, but it means a lot to me since my parents and siblings live in another state, so birthdays can be really hard for me sometimes. But it’s like Olive Garden here, and we are a weird little office family. (I did just book a short trip to see my family for the Winter Holidays though so I am VERY excited for that).

And a special thank you to Alex for going out of his way to get me an amazing Tres Leches cake that absolutely puts the bakers on Great British Bake Off to SHAME.

On this day 28 years ago the estimated number of babies born was 364,566, and I was one of them! I think the only notable celebrity I share a birthday with is Tara Reid from Sharknado, and here are some random pieces of history that have happened on November 8th:

-1895 - Wilhelm Roentgen while experimenting with electricity discovered the scientific principle involved and took the first X-ray pictures.

-1959 - Elgin Baylor (Minneapolis Lakers) scored 64 points and set a National Basketball Association scoring record.

-1965 - The soap opera "Days of Our Lives" debuted on NBC-TV.

-1993 - Five Picasso paintings and other artwork were stolen from the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, Sweden. The works were valued at $52 million.

-2009 - The game Angry Birds Star Wars was released.
