I will write whatever you comment onto a sticky note and hide it in the office - Alejandro's Blog
Added 2023-02-21 21:40:29 +0000 UTCHi kids its Alejandro the Assistant Editor and it's time for my blog. Today's call to action is that I will write whatever you comment onto a sticky note and hide it around the office. I will try and hide it somewhere where Jesse will find it eventually, but once he does I make no promises as to the wellbeing of the note. The ONLY RULES for this game is don't be a weirdo and use common sense. You can write silly or goofy stuff but obviously just don't be a dick.
If you work here and you're reading this, DO NOT LOOK AT THE COMMENTS so that it doesn't ruin the surprise.

Anyways onto the blog portion, as you many of you are aware we've been working on the Gentleman's Gaming Club revival and that'll be going up this Saturday (2/25/2023). So here are some behind the scenes photos. Pictured Above is our set up we use for the green screen portions. Instead of using an actual green screen we use a green light that projects onto a reflective sheet on the wall. The benefit of this is that the green light is only visible to the camera because it is on the same axis as the lens. So the green light doesn't bleed onto Jesse or Santell's outline in the video.

Then this is a picture of the After Effects composition I had to put together for all of the live action portions. Mari handled the majority of the video but when it comes down to the stuff we record in-house I'm responsible for setting up the lights and cameras and then I edit the footage to pass on to Mari so that he can plug it in.

This is an unflattering picture of Jesse and Santell that I took to show them what it looked like. They were offended.

And this is a picture of Mari yesterday when he had a really bad tummy ache and now he's staying home today because he's a sick little boy.
ALEJANDRO'S BOOK CORNER
Alright in book news, I finished the entire Poppy War Trilogy by R.F. Kuang. Overall I really enjoyed my time reading but oh my god that series is incredibly mentally taxing because of the subject matter. It is VERY graphic, not because it glorifies gore, but because it really goes in depth on the horrors and complexities of war. The entire series parallels the Second Sino-Japanese War in a Fantasy setting, and if you have even a brief understanding of that war then you'll understand how heavy it is. I have my qualms with the Trilogy but overall I liked it.
Right now I'm reading The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne, and I suspect by the time my next blog post rolls around I will have started The Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin which a few of you recommended to me at the beginning of January.
Alright I'm leaving now. Make your comments good and I will keep you updated if anything funny happened because of them. Byeeeeeeee!
