Weekly Status Report

Good afternoon,

Another busy week is coming to an end. I am still working on the final scenes for 0.6.1.0 and would like to give you a brief overview of what I have accomplished over the last few days.

Last Friday, I had already finished most of the work on the animations. This week, the focus was once again on editing the images I had created last week and making a few new character sprites and dialog images. Some of the images were quite challenging to work on, and I had to contend with above-average clipping errors.

I only finished all the images yesterday afternoon, which was much later than I had hoped (452 images in total). Well, I did make a few more during the week and then worked on a new animation for Arianna (for which I finished editing the images today). However, I am still a few steps from achieving my goal of completing the update, and I can already say with certainty that I will not manage it today.

In addition to working on the images, I also fixed a few minor bugs and made some minor improvements to the in-game menu (let's see if anyone notices). I have also been working on an event that now spawns orcs near Darkholt when they are about to attack. If the player defeats them in time, an attack on the village can be avoided.

But back to what still needs to be done for 0.6.1.0: I have now all the material (images and sprites) I need for the scenes I still want to implement. What is still missing, however, is a lot of dialogue and, of course, the code that ultimately plays the scenes and missing events such as Vilina's visit to the village.

And even if that still sounds like a lot, the update is now within reach. So I will continue to work hard on it so that it will be ready next week. I would have really liked to have finished it today, but as I already mentioned last friday, that was a bit overly optimistic and more to push my own motivation to work harder (In that regard it did work quite a lot).

So I hope you can be patient a little longer.
I will do my best to get the update ready over the course of the coming week.
