Mega-Muscle Rukia In Color! However...

Here's the muscle winner for this month, Rukia, with coloring by an artist named...let me check my notes here...

...Saxxon???

Let me explain!

So it just so happened that two things occurred. One, that a few of the go-to colorists for around here were busy and might not be available to tackle this project. And two, I found this out at literally the same time that I decided I was overdue to give proper coloring a try myself.

So, decided to go full YOLO and just try to color Rukia myself. Which was probably naive to the point of recklessness, as I have not done any digital coloring in many years, and what coloring I HAVE ever done was incredibly flat and rudimentary. Also, I colored this using a program I'd never so much as opened before. In pretty much every sense that matters, this is my FIRST PROPER DIGITAL COLORING ATTEMPT EVER. I was literally learning how to do anything needed to color this in the process of coloring it. As for the results? Well...

...it was a great learning experience, and while there is obviously tons of room for improvement, it really did turn out better than I was worried it would! But, I also do know that when other pics on here are colored by the likes of Silent Vincent, Electric-Flapjack, and Vascaloid, that this is not exactly among its peers coloring wise. If you feel this ain't quite up to snuff, feel free to let me know (I will not offended, again, FIRST ATTEMPT, I KNOW I STILL NEED TO LEARN) and I'm sure arrangements could still be made to get someone else to color it as well, it might just be slightly later. And hey! In that case, you could simply consider this an early bonus alternate version, and later a fascinating case-study in the difference between my attempt versus an actual colorist's work on the same drawing! It'll be educational!

But seriously, I had fun with at least giving this a shot, and look forward to continuing to figure things out. And either way, Silent Vincent WILL be taking care of the other color winner this month, so stay tuned and rest assured on that front!
