2025-06-26 19:45:00 +0000 UTCYes. I live in Colchester. Colchester Castle is built on the remains of The Temple of Claudius. Look it up man, I think you’d enjoy learning about it. The Castle is now a Roman Museum and the town has a vast Roman History; Boadicea of the Iceni tribe to name one aspect. There are still Roman walls dotted around the town and it was actually the first capital before it was relocated eventually to London and it remains Britain’s oldest recorded town. The stories of Old King Cole and Humpty Dumpty (actually a cannon used in the siege of Colchester during the civil war) both originate from here.
