The negatives are that it's ridiculously expensive, busy and noisy, a nightmare to traverse if you own a car, and it has some truly awful areas with gangs and high crime rates. Most of these are negatives most cities in the UK have however. The thing that I think actually makes people hate it though is the fact others gush about how great it is and think it's the only part of the UK that matters. It is one of the biggest cities in the world for commerce and business, though, so it's no surprise. Many feel the government and media focus too much on London, however, to the detriment of the rest of the UK. Love it or hate it though, no city in the UK comes close when it comes to cuisine, transport and tourism.
