I'm really hoping that Boba Fett is on a mission on behalf of the Sand People, and that he's working on something bigger than himself that will outlast him. He's simply too old to be challenging the Hutts over territory. He'll die of old age long before he gains enough power to actually be a threat to the Hutts.
