2023-08-26 21:35:02 +0000 UTCIncredible movie. One of maybe two that makes me tear up, but this one isn't ending a childhood favorite. Not sure if you saw the translation for the song in the grandma's backstory, but it's singing about two caterpillars that are in love, but have to separate to become butterflies, then when they come out, they don't recognize the other. So, I'm tearing u pretty good by the end of that, and then when Antonio sees everyone in town coming to help it just gets worse. Also, you were right about Why Mirabelle didn't have powers, she's meant to be the next leader of the family. There's a lot of stuff symbolizing that in the movie, she has all the symbols for the other family members sewn into her clothes, how she was the one waking everybody else up in the morning, and her name purposely sounding like Miracle. There's actually a lot of stuff like that in this, like the last name, Madrigal being the term for when there is a harmony in a song being sung by different people with different melodies combining, like what happed at the end of We don't talk about Bruno, who's name was originally Oscar, but was changed to Bruno just so they could say "We don't talk about Bruno-no-no-no" The massive amount of attention put into this movie is just astounding.
