Subaru's figures show that Emilia is his type of waifu. That's why he fell in love with her at first sight! Also that was a lot of information so basically, only the half-blood can take the trial. So when Roswaal tried to take it, he was rejected. Also the non half-bloods can leave the barrier but Garfiel is holding them hostage so that Emilia can pass the trial and get rid of the barrier.
