The dreams were not to be taken literally - when he was being tested by the Reverend Mother, she directly asked him if his dreams always came true and he said they did not.

2022-09-04 21:01:14 +0000 UTC2 weeks late, but don't take the dreams literally... they might have some things directly but 90% of the time everything is metaphorical or incomplete... meaning they take pieces of information and form a new vision... So we hear to kill someone else is to kill yourself... and paul sees himself getting killed. The dream said they would teach him the ways of the desert.... well Paul just got a crash course on 1 of those traditions of the desert when he had to fight that dude.
