You'll start seeing how episodes connect in small ways — this with the Hex episode (Astral Gates), how a lot of the past episodes in between 1-13 have a syndicate connection related with Spike/Jet's past as a cop fighting against them. This series is very episode-of-the-week, but there's a greater narrative in the background, and honestly it can be enjoyed in so many ways because of all the small details that add something unique to each viewing imo.
