I saved "My Nonfiction" too, it's so addicting haha. The blue robot cat that Hayasaka mentioned is a reference to Doraemon. It's an episodic anime for kids that's been running for many years, very well known in Japan (and generally Asia too I think). The premise is basically that he came from the future to help the protagonist (Nobita) in the present time. He has a 4-dimensional pocket with all these crazy gadgets that he uses to help Nobita. So that's why Hayasaka said she's not like Doraemon. You saw something blue pop up from a drawer in this episode, because that's where his time machine is. He just appeared from Nobita's drawer one day and came into his life like that.
