smell is one of the senses most associated with memory. My mother has been dead over 20 years, I lost her when I was 19 I'm 42 now. My sister occasionally wears the same perfume that my mom wore if it's a special occasion, but scent always has a calming effect on me. even though I'm 42 that makes me feel safe and secure.
