For example, Misato has relieved sex after Shinji comes back from episode 20, this is so realistic for someone who experienced a huge amount of pressure. She has to act like a mother for Shiniji in that position since his father is very bad. However, her last source of relief also got killed in this episode. The really important part is not the mystery of flowery🤣. This complexity of characters is similar to Arcane but the main character uses a more Japanese way to tackle feelings. I think if you experienced anxiety and depression before will make you understand more of their position.

I am thinking that to really enjoy the show you have to relate more to Shinji, which I think there's more to his character than just anxiety or depression (which all people face at some point)
