I agree, I feel bad for him, he has to put on a front of being cruel and harsh or his son will over take him. Unless you were in a position of royalty you couldn't afford to show any kindness. If you were royalty you could at least deflect with such things are beneath me dealing with and trivialize it,

2023-02-24 23:12:26 +0000 UTCThe woman's name is Arnheid and yes she is the same slave that talks to Einar every morning. The end of the episode was pretty sad for Arnheid too... earlier in the episode Einar asked Throfinn if she'd also be able to buy her freedom but it looks like that won't be the case since Ketil's words were "Stay with me, without you, my world is full of darkness" Arnheid's expression is really telling when he says that too... she knows that she'll never truly be free. What's worse is that she can't even work for her freedom like the other slaves. That must be tough.
