Yes. Nowadays we adopted 'antihero' to describe a protagonist who's philosophy and/or modus operandi are written to be debatable, and it seems the modern culture loves that kind of thing. Batman, of course, is a classic example. You guys mentioned him last episode - yeah if Batman had actual magic powers instead of obscene wealth, we'd get Light-kun. Mage, the table-top rpg (of which I'm a fan) deals heavily in Hubris. If a regular person is suddenly given (potentially absolute) powers such as this, it would -of course- be a struggle to maintain any semblance of humility and center as a decent human. That's what the story is all about.

Protagonist is just a term used for the character who the story is centered around. A Protagonist is not necessarily a "good guy."
