You were asking some questions that involved some Sith philosophy and background. This is covered in a much later season a little bit, but it isn’t a spoiler just some Star Wars Lore. So, if you are interested here it is:
The Sith operate under “The Rule of Two” which is a teaching they’ve had for centuries. There are only ever supposed to be two Sith, a master and an apprentice. This is supposed to ensure they continually get stronger. The apprentice learns everything from the Master and then tries to kill him. If he succeeds, he has proven himself stronger and continues The Rule of Two by finding his own apprentice. If he fails, the apprentice was too weak, and the Master must find a new apprentice.
This is because in the past there were thousands of Sith and the weak would gang up on the strong and kill them. This weakened the overall strength of the Sith.
So Sith should expect their apprentices to be plotting to kill them. Darth Sidious became obsessed with eternal life and unlimited power though, and that is why he acts how he does in the movies and the show. Not really inline with The Rule of Two.
