Something to note, the school year in Japan starts in April, with summer break coming between the first and second terms. So, even after their summer break, class 1-A will still be in their first year of high school. They won't move onto their second year until April comes around again. Building off of that, the first two seasons took place in their first term, so about three or four months (with the obvious exception of all the stuff before they actually began at UA).
