Casey held it together way better than we did when my girlfriend and I watched this together. We cried for maybe like an hour after the show ended lol

2020-10-30 20:05:18 +0000 UTCI think the Lady in the Lake (who isn't really Viola anymore) was just running on instinct when Dani invited her in because she recognized the words but she still didn't really have enough of a personality or a true motivation. Her instinct to follow her routine to walk the halls of Bly back to that room called her back again, which is why Dani ultimately went back. They don't have real memories to have a real motivation, just a whisper of a feeling that drives them. As for the parents, I think the reason they never saw the Lady was because that was only their summer home prior to the parents death. They didn't actually lived there all the time. You guys didn't mention it but I have seen others talk about how none of the characters in the flashforward really look like their younger selves (especially Owen) but I think that's because the version of them we followed throughout the series were fiction based on fact. They obviously didn't have the same names or places because, well, half the people in the story were there in the room lmfao So that's my interpretation anyway. Like were were watching the movie adaption based on her real life. It's so different from Hill House but it does carry over some things, namely grief and loss and I hope that continues over to the next season. We've seen family drama with the loss of a parent and a sibling, we've seen lost lovers, maybe next season they'll go full Broadchurch and explore the loss of a child? idk but I'm excited to see where they go and how they'll change things up to tell their story.
