2021-01-21 08:56:59 +0000 UTCSo people don't normally understand this but one of those steel beams weigh 2000 pounds. With that much weight along with the force of gravity pushing it down it would be hard for Deku to straight away lift it up enough to calmly put it down. Also if he threw the beam it would be so much weight that it would probably destroy the structure they were in and cause even more damage or it could potentially fall somewhere around the structure where civilians or homes may be placed. Deku is only at 8% right now although he can focus 20% in his fingers. So basically Deku is lifting at least 2000 pounds plus the force of gravity and can hold it up with one arm with only 8%. It took him a few seconds to actually maintain the steel beam and push it back up.
