Interhigh (Summer, the one they're playing right now) and Spring Tournament (in January, the one Date tech referred to). Basically, in Japan, it's a big decision for third years to choose to continue their club activities after Interhigh or not because they need the time to study more for college entrance exams. The "new" team Date tech meant was their team without the third years. And yes, any part of the body can be used to receive the ball, including the feet. You can say the Aoba Johsai team as "Aw-ba Jo-sai" Also, for context, Karasuno is on a different prefecture as Nekoma (cats). If they are to meet with each other in an official game, both of them will need to qualify for the Nationals which can be on the either tournaments
