I'm glad the story was smart enough to have Invincible himself get wrecked by Battle Beast, since otherwise that scene would have felt like Monster Girl, Samson, and Titan were there just to make you ogle at Battle Beast's strength. And then when (and *if*, I haven't even watched the next episode) Invincible beats him, you go "Wow! He's so strong!" Like Vegeta from DBZ getting bodied by every second person he looks at, and then Goku finishes the job. But instead, this is as much a loss and learning experience for everyone involved, as much as it is an introduction to Beast. I also do kind of like the idea that, as a hero, when you face a random group of villains, any one of them could be a secret super-badass just lying in wait. You don't know for sure. This episode kind of puts you in that mindset, which is pretty cool.
