You are way to obessed about it and you wouldn't give it a second thought if you haven't watched The Mandalorian before Rebels. But like Bo Katan said. the Empire will not let this go and will come in full force after Mandalore and if you remember The Mandalorian you can imagine what happened. "The Great Purge". How do you think the empire obtained beskar ingots with the imperial stamp on it.

This is just about all the Mando content we have in the Filoni verse, so you are now ready for Mando s3, which seems to set up a lot of mando politics and retaking Mandalore The biggest change in Darksaber lore is that in Rebels, Bo Katan accepted the darksaber without fighting for it; in Mando, we see her strongly refuse. This episode is before New Hope, before Rogue one so we are about a decade from the events of Mandalorian. Clearly, but then something very bad has happened and Mandalore remains in imperial hands, at least up to a point. That means Bo Katan’s “rule” did not go well - and it’s possible the fact EVERYONE saw her with the darksaber without winning it lead to the fracture of the unified front we saw
