The Raid: Redemption - Full Length Reaction

This gives me an excuse to finally watch the sequel after rewatching the first film again. Since you asked for suggestions and because I doubt too many people will suggest it, I would consider the 2010 South Korean film "The Man From Nowhere". It's more of an action thriller than a martial arts film, somewhat similar to "Man on Fire".

Mere_Prologue

This movie rules so hard. I love how Mad Dog fits into the same category as a certain someone else you've met already: there's no better way to get good at something than to love what you do. That's true of anything, not just fighting, but regardless, I love this character archetype. The second one is arguably better, has a deeper (and complex) plot, and really cool antagonist characters. Very big recommend. I've also *still* not seen Dredd, despite only ever hearing good things. Should really make the time.

The sequel might be even better and expands this universe, diving into the gang warfare. Also, they loved the Mad Dog actor & fighting skills so much they brought him back for a different role. And he's in John Wick 3 as well lol. Great reactions as always!

Funny enough - the movie Dredd (as in Judge Dredd) that came out just te next year afer The Raid has very similar setup: a tall building full of criminals with a boss on the top floor throwing his goons at the heroes, also - both flims are BRUTAL. I doubt it was intentional, because Dredd was in production long before the release of The Raid, but it is still interesting how two movies made in different countries in the same time period have so much in common. BTW: Dredd (2012) is also a very good movie, and Carl Urban was a perfect casting for the role.
