I take it you guys haven't watched the Rogue One movie, which takes place prior to episode IV, or at least not for awhile? It's where some of your missing blanks like about Project Stardust and Krennic is from etc so definitely recommend brushing up on it again at some point 😅

Also, one more nugget:
recall at the end of season three, when Thrawn confronted Bendu, Bendu said:
You cannot see. But I can. I see your defeat. Like many arms surrounding you in a cold embrace."
Look at how Thrawn was ultimately defeated - the purgil’s arms trapping him as they entered hyperspace

A beautiful wrap up to an amazing series, with a finale and epilogue that leaves SOOOO many Easter eggs and threads for shows to come. You hav to marvel at the challenge Filoni took on: giving a satisfying conclusion to the series, but fitting into the OT without leaving too much hanging, Thrawn, Ahsoka, Ezra, and Kana had to come off the board, or else their absences from the OT would be too glaring. Killing everyone is too easy and wastes too good as set of characters, so he sends Ezra and Thrawn to parts unknown, setting up the sequel series, he has Kanan sacrifice himself, and Ahsoka is trapped on Malachor with some time shenanigans yet to be fully fleshed out.
The timeline of Ahsoka’s appearance in Mando and the events of the epilogue are a massive question we have all been wondering about; the initial assumption was that because Mandalorian is roughly 5 years post ROTJ (per Favreau), “The Jedi” episode takes place AFTER the Rebels epilogue. Then Filoni gave an interview saying that assumption MIIIIGHT he be wrong, his the standard Filoni teasing way. This means the timeline is much more fluid
In “The Jedi,” Ahsoka is rocking the gray robe and does not mention Sabine to Din, another Mando. Here, she has a white robe and a staff, an obvious Gandalf reference., and has a shuttle with an X-wing escort as she lands on Lothal. It’s very possible there’s a bigger gap than we thought; they could also to some retconning. It’s all going to be fascinating to see, and live action Sabine, Ezra and the rest will be iiiiiincredible
We have also already seen Rex and at least heard of Hera in the movies. In ROTJ, the Rebels accompanying Han, Luke and Leia include a white-haired, balding trooper with a beard that looks ALOT like Rex, and Filoni has since confirmed that that dude IS Rex. It’s a clever and fortune accident that the original ROTJ had a dude that looked close enough to an old clone that they could retcon Rex into ROTJ, It’s not Teumura Morrison but it’s good enough. This also means Rex served with Luke Skywalker, although he may not have known Luke was the son of his old friend Anakin. Something they can explore in the future, perhaps
In Rogue One, when the Rebels are prepping to leave Yavin IV for Scariff, there is an announcement on the base speakers that mentions “General Syndulla”. The Ghost and Chopper also make brief appearances. Filoni has talked about how awesome it was to work with Gareth Edwards and the Rogue One staff, and the movie VFX guys actually helped touch up the rendering of the Ghost which benefitted Season 4’s animators. Always awesome to see animation and movie staffs collaborate.
Hera also is featured in the new Rogue Squardron game as a general in the New Republic. She would be a welcome addition to the Mando-related series which take place during the post OT period. She would be a military leader for the New Republic with experience working with Mandalorians.
Sabine’s whereabouts from the finale to the epilogue are also left unanswered. She apparently did not join the rebellion, and the obvious alternative is for her to return to Mandalore, where her family was helping Bo Katan retake a Mandalore. That attempt clearly failed and ended with Moff Gideon’s “Night of a Thousand Tears.” I suspect Gideon quashed Bo Katan’s rebellion with a repaired Arc Pulse Generator, but that’s just my theory. In any case, Sabine is NOT with Bo Katan in Mandalorian, so….a split happened at some point. She should still have Ezra’s green lightsaber, too, while Bo lost the Darksaber. It’s possible Sabine pops up in Mandalorian Season 3, which appears to deal with Mandalore itself.
I’m glad you guys got into Rebels, as it’s a critical but underrated series. As we near Mando S3 and a lot of reactors who picked up Clone Wars after s2 finish up, I hope more people discover the series. It has a much smaller scale than Clone Wars, but it has sooo much heart.

I adored this show when it aired and loved this pitch-perfect ending. Bring on the waterworks with the music and that family painting at the end. Great reaction as always.
And yeah, I definitely felt the long wait after it ended before Ahsoka's appearance in Mando. The mention of Thrawn made me so excited. Can't wait for Rebels 2.0 haha
