My Beloved Cat Dandylion has passed
Added 2020-04-13 14:31:50 +0000 UTCThose of you who have been around for a while may remember me talking about Dandylion and her health issues. I’m so thankful I was able to do everything possible for her, and to visit her in March. I didn’t want to believe it would be the last time, I left hopeful she would be better the next time we met. She is so precious and loving, she always noticed when I was sad and would comfort me, she was playful too and loved to cuddle. Holding her filled me with warmth and joy, she was the softest cat ever and cuddling with her till we fell asleep are beautiful memories. It’s really hard to process that she’s gone, part of me thinks I’ll see her next time I go visit my mom. She’s been with us 17 years, I’m so thankful for that. I know she’s at peace now, and while I’m grieving the loss of my angel, at the same time I believe she is still with me, in my heart.

2020-04-13 16:02:12 +0000 UTCI just went through very similar with my cat Little Bit. He was with us for 17 or so years as well. Towards his final months he always laid with me til I fell asleep and then he'd go on his way. He wasn't gaining weight and sometimes didn't eat. We made the decision to put him down and I still regret it. He was suffering but should I have let him live his best life? It's hard to say... but I hold his memories very warmly and I'll always remember my little warrior cat. He was a fighter and always managed to seem happy despite his lack of weight or appetite. Dandylion was lucky to have a loving owner like you and I'm sure she's thankful for everything you all did for her.

2020-04-13 15:12:02 +0000 UTCSorry to hear Pattie. It's never an easy thing when you lose a precious part of the family. We had two cats for awhile. One was a rescue from a dumpster the other was born from our neighbors cat. It was hard for awhile after their passing. Sending hugs and best wishes.

Still we're lucky to have had so wonderful friends by our side and your story reminds me somehow of my cat, Pearl, who's passed many years ago. I did not had the chance to say goodbye to him, and i shared such moments you've described with yours. I like the positive thoughts when you say Dandylion will still be there with you somehow, and i believe so, as long as you keep her in your mind, she's there, but in a different way.
