Thank guys this made my day. In addition to the comments about Cannibal the Musical and Book of Mormon, Matt and Trey have also made some movies that have done pretty well. Chronologically there is my favourite - "Orgazmo", followed by Baseketball, and then Team America. Team America has some musical elements, in case you haven't seen it. Orgazmo also has a Mormon theme to it and if you are curious, also contains references to "hampster style". I hope one day you guys might try giving these a watch.

A couple of fun facts: Randy as Spider-man is a reference to the failed Spider-Man Broadway musical that got canceled due to so many injuries happening on the show, and The Book of Mormon at the end is a Broadway musical made by Matt and Trey themselves. It was a sort of a self promotion. They did the same thing promoting The South Park video game at the end of the Black Friday trilogy.

I'm not super into musicals, but I did fall into the Hamilton/Lin-manuel Miranda fandom. There are some great classics out there though.

"The Book of Mormon is a musical comedy with music, lyrics, and book by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone."
That one came out in 2011, and that last bit in this episode was promoting it and poking fun at it. Matt and Trey are musicians besides all their other things going in film, writing and animation, they met at the University of Colorado Boulder and collaborated in their feature length musical "Cannibal! The Musical" in 1993. That's why South Park has too many good musical numbers throughout.
React to "All About Mormons," people just love showing that one to Mormons, and then react to the highly regarded "Trapped in the Closet" as South Park goes after Scientology, R. Kelly (his rap opera was named Trapped in the closet), and Tom Cruise.
