Man I never actually looked at how long the recaps were in comparison to the episode. I wouldn't mind syncing up after you skip the recap honestly. No one should be subject to excessive anime recap, or laugh tracks while we are at it. If you just happen to use that huge time save to throw in another episode here and there, well that would be welcome too. =D

2023-09-18 21:55:36 +0000 UTCThe long recaps are a way for the anime developers to drag out the content they can make as much as possible. This was very common for anime adaptations that come out while the source material, the manga, is still ongoing. Eventually, the anime catches up, so what to do? Make the recaps longer or make a lot of filler episodes or insert unnecessary flashbacks from as recent as one episode ago--all of which Bleach's anime does--to give the manga breathing space to release more chapters and get ahead of the anime. One Piece takes this further because a few hundred episodes later, even it's opening songs are twice as long as the normal length, which is actually pretty cool, but the long recaps are still there. This has been much less common in modern anime because instead of releasing episodes every week nonstop for years on end, they make the anime nowadays seasonal.

2023-09-18 05:55:12 +0000 UTCCero is a Arrancar ability so vizards can use it, if they are ex-shinigami they also can Bankai if they achieved it of course, but Arrancars can't Bankai, they can release their sword which is kinda their version of Bankai, we didn't saw any of the 10 Espada release yet, and they are the most powerful out of all Arrancars. You didn't catch this up but Grimmjow at the end of Episode when Ulquiorra stopped him was about to release, by saying "Grind", best fights are still to come, right now those are just prep skirmishes, thanks for upload.

2023-09-18 04:00:21 +0000 UTCI fully understand Anthony's frustration, but you need to just accustom yourself, or if you are really frustrated just skip it and start reaction at the moment retrospections end with timer (maybe extra episode too hehe) i would still let every new opening to go at least once, it saves quite a lot time in long run not gonna lie. Im catching up one piece newest arc and skipping often 5-6min+ where new episode actually starts, and that's quite normal, in some arcs it was even like 8min+. The reason for this? same as the reason for Fillers, while long series are adapted they are most of the time going in with manga release, and normal length episodes like Jujutsu for example without any fillers/retrospections would mean a hiatus for anime, so either this or we would get breaks for months. One of the most important aspects of anime a lot of people don't realize for long time, its slowly changing, but Anime is a promotion for Manga selling most of the time, its just a by-product not the main source of income, it was and still is Manga that earns the most in Japan, and for long time they didn't care about overseas licenses/earnings, but its changing as Anime is getting more global with each year, and western comic/cinema is kinda shit compared to what it was 10-20years ago+. There was a news where one volume of Demon Slayer sold more copies than whole western Comic industry imagine that... Also tldr: Long shounen's have some boring-mid episodes, but the payoff at one point is huge and worth watching, like the arc you guys are watching currently or the newest one currently coming out with banger new animations.
