Kiritsugu married into the Einzbern family (Irisviel's creators) by marrying Irsiviel, most likely because Kiritsugu knew they were a powerful, prominent family who could give him the best resources when he participates in the Holy Grail War, and the Einzberns also wanted him as a skilled fighter who can fight in the Holy Grail War for them.
