Love, Victor - Who's behind door number 1?

I went back and watched your Season 2 part 1 video. That was helpful, as it had been a year since I watched the show, and it brought back a lot of memories about the show. I think I am realizing that for my personal journey, I am invested in some of the new YA gay shows for the protagonists to stay together. Almost like these shows are archetypal--the great romances that we haven't had much previously. Much more tragedy and difficulty than romance. So a show that implies that ideal (that at the end of the day, the relationship will survive), that has strong appeal for me. Love, Simon (especially the books) implies that. HeartStopper implies that. Young Royals is still unknown--but one could see a path where that would become a permanent relationship. So I think as Love, Victor explored the ambiguous situation with two possible outcomes, I felt the loss of that idea. The whole series could have started Season 1 with Victor and Rahim--and I would have been rooting for Victor and Rahim. It's something about that promise of permanence of the relationship, in these kind of stories, that is very appealing. Of course, this series is MUCH more complex and re-watching your Season 2 react video brought all of that back. The journey of the parents. Victor just trying to figure out what the damn rules are ("I'm not gay enough for this group. I'm too gay for that group!") So I think this is exactly what I needed to see. This show is aiming to be less romantic, and more complex. Like the real life that I live myself. So I'll stop being invested in an outcome with season 3--and just see where it goes.
