Troye Sivan Blue Neighborhood trilogy

Claire Hill

the thing about harry its a great movie

Alanna Smith

Glad you've seen it--one of my favorites:)

Corrine Glanville

Agreed. It’s on Netflix and I credit this series but especially season 3 and 4 with helping me get through lockdown in the UK during COVID.

Graham & Ruth May

Yes, this is an amazing film!

Hi Josh and Alex, it’s your friendly neighbor pest here. I was wondering if you’d be interested in reacting to “Tick Tick Boom” which is on Netflix starring Andrew Garfield? There’s not a huge amount of Gay representation but one of the lead characters, Michael, is played by Robin DeJesus. The role he plays is a strong performance. He’s also in “Boys in the Band “. There’s a cameo by one of the actors (don’t remember his name at the moment) who was also in “Uncoupled”. There we go, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Diane Furlong

“The Thing About Harry” is a fun movie too. It’s the complicated journey of Sam and Harry

Diane Furlong

I tried watching Merli but couldn’t get into it.

Diane Furlong

I don’t know if it’s possible in the UK, but I’d love to see your reactions to or thoughts about a Canadian series, “Schitt’s Creek”. The relationship between David and Patrick is just beautiful in every way (seasons 3-6) but the entire series is brilliant.

EmilyC

+1 to this 💜

Kim Engel

I’ve seen some interviews with Andrew Garfield talking about being in that play on Broadway.

Diane Furlong

A super ambitious choice, but... "Angels in America"? It was effectively a Broadway play as "streaming show" (i.e. lengthwise it's about 8-10 episodes) 30 years before streaming shows existed. But that dialog... And recently a UK production! Denise Gough as Harper in the National Theatre production a few years back was heartbreaking, and Andrew Garfield, Nathan Lane? Very powerful performances.

David Gadd

I just saw this one in the movie theater here in NY. It’s “Of An Age”. I liked it but it has a different vibe to it.

Diane Furlong

I like Smiley too.

Diane Furlong

One of the best episodes of television I've ever watched. The entire series is amazing.

@B Looking is also on YouTube

Wildhood (movie, streaming on Hulu+ in the US, not sure about the UK). It has really stuck with me, and I'd love to hear what others think. No one I know outside of my own household has watched it, and I haven't seen any reactions to it. It deserves more attention than it has gotten. There are aspects of the portrayal of the central character and the way the story is told that remind me a lot of God's Own Country.

HouseTrolls

I don’t usually do scary movies but I really like Ben Aldridge so I had to see Knock at the Cabin. Held my breath the whole time.

Diane Furlong

I thought the series Smiley was very cute. Had the actor who was also in the series Merli. Sapere Aude (a cute but then sad series).

L Archibald

A gorgeous and ultimately hopeful film about a young gay dancer in Russia called 'And Then We Danced." So good!

Corrine Glanville

Skam (the original version from Norway) season 3 with Isak and Even 🙏🏻. It reminds me of Young Royals ( even the language is almost the same 😉).

Marstrand

I was just thinking, which can be a little dangerous. Has anyone suggested “Rocketman”? It’s about Elton John AND young Elton is portrayed by Kit Connor (Heartstopper’s Nick)

Diane Furlong

I saw your comment too late, but yes please, fire island! That movie makes me so happy. It’s a comfort watch. And a great soundtrack.

snallahej

Smiley (! corrected) on Netflix, any music or artists you’re into, discussions on tropes and character archetypes in queer media.

snallahej

Would 💜 to hear thoughtful commentary on knock at the cabin. It didn’t sit well w/me, but I want to be open-minded. +1 for Bros. Also Fire Island on Hulu in the U.S.

snallahej

Looking is a great suggestion, though not sure how easy HBO shows are to get in the UK.

b

Dear Ex (Thai film, Netflix), the Aristotle and Dante film, the Half of It, Handsome Devil, maybe Fire Island? of course SKAM ;) also Our Flag Means Death! I think it's finally on iPlayer and season 2 was just filmed.

b

Diane, listed some excellent choices above and I’ve read that NPH’s show Uncoupled will now get a 2nd season on Showtime, but I would like to add a British thriller called Femme starring Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and George MacKay…very intriguing film👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😎🌈

Rob Olivier

The last of us episode 3

Jose Sanchez

I’m rewatching your “Heartstopper” reaction to episode 7&8 now before leaving for work in a few minutes. Billy Eichner & Luke MacFarlane in “Bros”Harry Styles in “My Policeman” Jonathan Groff in “Looking” there are 2 seasons and then the movie is equivalent of season 3 Jim Parsons & Ben Aldridge in “Spoiler Alert” Jonathan Groff & Ben Aldridge in “Knock At the Cabin” Michael Urie & Luke MacFarlane in “Single All the Way” There’s a pretty good variety here. I’m looking forward to seeing what you fellas come up with.

Diane Furlong

And have messaged you, guys. ❤️

Graham & Ruth May

Schitts Creek season 3, please?
