I was looking for someone to mention the 'my country' part (I didn't want to repeat something that someone had already said). It's so great to see it included in mainstream media and it's really important to spread info/awareness to both domestic and international communities.

2023-10-16 03:12:20 +0000 UTCI’m a bit late to the party on this one, but really feel the need to add my thoughts on the Cash/Darren scene. I found it incredibly triggering as someone on the ACE-spectrum, as it shows the lack of understanding of asexuality even within the queer community. He very clearly comes out as homo/possibly-biromantic asexual (and seems sex-repulsed from what he says). It’s the idea that “maybe you’ve just had bad sex” or “maybe we can find a way you will enjoy sex” that leaves us feeling “broken” for so long. That somehow we are less-than because of our lack of sexual attraction. I love this channel so much, but I will say that your commentary on the scene was a bit triggering too, and highlighted how little asexuality is understood even by the two of you who comment on queer content so regularly. I would highly recommend reading “The Invisible Orientation” by Julie Sondra Decker to educate yourselves, as asexual storylines are slowly getting more space in mainstream productions (including Heartstopper). The book is also available on Audible. You have a growing audience, and it would be amazing to see you discuss asexuality with more knowledge if it comes up again in the content you review.

There must be people who are HAPPY with neither. I reckon Ca$h might fall in that category. He just doesn't get that kind of urge for anything more than kissing in the same way that 100% tops/bottoms don't get the urge to switch roles. Just sayin' Darren and Ca$h had a good conversation where they were realistic about whether the stuff they both like is enough. And whether Darren would be happy without the stuff that falls outside of that. Healthy chat.

As it is interesting to have a typical teen drama with a mystery being weaved throughout the whole season. Im curious if they try to repeat that w season 2. I got the vibes Ca$h is asexual, but he's not aromantic, so he loves the relationship and kissing that comes with being with darren, but he doesn't have sexual impluses. I dont always associate wanting to kiss with wanting sex. and he happens to feel like that, just all the time. maybe unpopular opinion: I hate Dusty 1000x more than Spider.

2023-10-08 02:07:43 +0000 UTCI don't say this lightly but I think Ca$h might be my favorite ace spectrum rep I've ever seen. So much of his conversation with Darren mirrors my own feelings. It really hurts to have romantic feelings for someone and yet feel that there's no future in the relationship because they want something you can't give. To know that you would otherwise fit together well...if not for this one thing that is making you incompatible. That sucks! And it doesn't mean either person is bad or wrong, it just means you're not compatible but God, it still hurts so much. He broke my heart, honestly.

Malakai going "my country" means he is going to reconnect to the land. There may have been ceremony or "men's business" performed. It would be equal to a Christian going to church. - Cash is asexual but he is not aromantic so he still wants a relationship and a romantic connection without the sexual side of it. - Harper's dad has a drug problem, not just alcohol. When she checks the phone in the kitchen it is his phone and the messages are about buying drugs. That's why she is so on edge when she realises he has been out all night. Looking forward to your reaction to the final episode!!
