PSA about Danmachi 'zombies' apparently.
Added 2023-11-11 07:54:32 +0000 UTCI got a couple DM's with concerns about the Upgrades Jake going completely off the deep end and fusing people which could ruin the story which is a fair worry.
First let me reiterate that Danmachi souls are weird, basically the majority of powerful named characters are reincarnations of people before the age of the gods and advent of Falna with their abilites being reflections of the abilites they had in their past lives. Like Welf having his magical sword creation ability. The only reason he has it, is due to him being the reincarnation of the original Crozzo.
Danmachi souls are very observable things as noted by Freya's obsession over Bell's own soul and its been remarked that some Evilus members who had gleefully accepted death had broken and dull souls if not just having lost their soul altogether.
So, Jake wouldn't be fusing people. He is just basically just fusing walking suits of flesh at this point with no soul or consciousness within.

2023-11-11 14:48:06 +0000 UTCIf it bugs people, consider mercy killing them, then fusing the fresh corpses. The body is still very much 'alive' for a short while after death. Cells still trying to do their thing before energy runs out.
