Apocalypse Chapter 24

Hina, and Seako both got cleaned up and changed fairly quickly, so we left UA to go head to the apartments that our Patrons had setup close to one another in the same building and checked out our situation in better detail. With Yuriko staying behind at the school to socialize with her fellow teachers and staff.

But even as we rode a simple train back to our apartment. The radio announcer painted a grim picture of the world as the things they broadcasted were obviously the things the stations thought were 'Ok' to filter out to the public. [Yesterday, due to an unseen Quirk Awakening. A mutant-type Quirk with the ability to shoot boiling acid from their ant-like protrusion violently mutated. She fully transformed into a massive ant queen who could create hundreds of car-sized ants that could shoot boiling super acids from their mouths and backsides.]

I raised an eyebrow at the announcement and then the full train went silent as the announcer continued somberly. "The ant nest which seemingly reaching critical mass broke up through up the downtown city district of Tokyo's underground. Thankfully the hero Endeavour was on the scene in less than four minutes. Casualties are thankfully only estimated to be less than twenty thousand due to the swift response times of heroes and mostly the acid inhalation and building collapsing causing the majority of the deaths.]

'Only twenty thousand people died...' I thought with a shudder at how thankful they were that only that many people died. Then it hit me as I remembered what had happened with Hero 13... She had become a literal black hole and had wiped whole parts of Japan off the entire fucking map with more than three million people dying in the twenty minutes she was active in her awakened state.

Likewise Hina, and Seako squeezed my hands in feeling the same as I was. And the news didn't get any better as the news reporter spoke of another major incident but this time it was outside of Japan. [The Warlord, Jupiter has destroyed the Vatican using his weather manipulation to land thousands of lightning bolts onto the religious icon to destroy the micro-nation. With the Warlord having declared himself as the god-king of Italy and is currently planning on taking over Greece to rebuild the Roman Empire.]

"This is our stop." I said with the two following me off the train and we headed down the residential roads of large apartment buildings that were a good dozen or stories tall lining on both sides with small grass patches separating each building.

We quickly made our way to our shared apartment building and after we got inside and put away our school stuff we got down to the brass tacks of what we really needed to be doing in this universe. "Alright... So we need to keep our stupid classmates alive. The real question is should we get involved with the whole secret 'UA' spy nonsense." I spoke as I pulled Hina onto my lap to relax as Seako was making us all some tea.

And from the kitchen, Seako spoke out with some annoyance. "The issue is we don't even know if All for One is even a thing with all the awakened Quirk nonsense... For all we know, Hero 13 could have ground him down to nothingness in her rampage to say nothing of another incident or even him just succumbing to the wounds of his fight with All-Might?"

I nodded with a grunt as it wasn't like I could just google 'Is the evil master mind dead rn?' As even the stuff on All for One doesn't list him by name. Frankly I just needed to make sure that I was strong enough that should the U.A invasion happens as per is the norm for canon. That I can just kill Shigaraki and the rest of his band of merry psychopaths.

And in theme of dealing with the notable villains of this world... I needed to practice a spell or something to block out teleportation or otherwise dimensional crap so Kurogiri the smokey portal-making guy couldn't just send everyone away and cause so many issues.

Seako respectfully brought out our snack of tea and some treats and then we started brainstorming the major threats to come and how we could endeavor to keep all my classmates alive so the universe could be more easily reset by my patron. "In any case, the traitor Yuga Aoyama isn't a threat with his naval laser... Even if it mutated or awoke, his quirk would likely kill him as its not a natural quirk his body developed." Hina said coldly but I nodded as I added to her thought.

"Yes, letting him stick around will only make keeping canon somewhat on track easier for ourselves so we can at least have a general idea of what thr-"

My words were cut off as a series of screams rang into the apartment from our cracked open window to air out the apartment and all three of us ran to the fire escape on the side of the building to see what what going on currently.

And in clear as view day, was someone's Quirk awakening... Or better put, mutating.

It was a bloody affair. Their bodies unsuited for their rampaging quirk factor mutated in a violent rush of muscles and flesh failing to grow to meet the power of their new Quirk and in doing so, it was clear that the Quirk wielder mind was either in so much pain that they were just lashing out. Or they had simply completely lost their minds and had reverted to a more primal mindset driven by their quirks natural drives.

The person had transformed into some kind of oversized alligator with thick overlapping scale shields across his body, but oddly each of his scales looked like a top down picture of a molar tooth or something.

But as the gator opened its mouth and hundreds of teeth shot from its mouth in all directions besides down its gullet I realized the guy must have had a teeth generation Quirk or something.

And seeing the monster tearing through the terrified civilians whose untrained Quirks couldn't break through the thick scale armor of the monster who was gleefully ripping some poor woman legs off with a death roll across the street. My face became cold as my hands filled with lightning as I leapt off from the fire escape as I formed a Chidori in my hands.

As in this world... Killing a rampaging awakened/mutated Quirk wielder was not a crime at all. It was truthfully, rather bluntly encouraged in our tests to get into UA.
