Grand Hunt Chapter 6

All too soon we came across our targets. And I could see how canon had changed as Frieren's younger companions in Stark and Fern were fighting the demon that could control it's blood. And the other demon who died like a bitch trying to assassinate Frieren with magical string.

Stark for how strong he was, however. Didn't have his own mana to block the demons razor-sharp string that could lop tree's in half when pressured was applied to said strings.

So I instantly threw Artemis's arrow in the form of al large spear with the spear screaming as it carving through the air.

The ordinary-looking male demon looked over at the spear coming towards him with lethal intent, and he sneered as he flicked a finger with one of the magic wires sliding forward to slice the divine arrow of Artemis...

That magical wire broke instantly upon meeting the divine arrow.

He threw up dozens more wires to block the spear and all the wires were cut, destroyed or otherwise broken. But it gave him enough time to dodge the spear that slammed into the castle wall behind him and create a large crater in the wall.

"Another warrior huh... Why can't I get an actual mage." The demon said dully before his ducked again as I called Artemis's arrow back to my hand.

But while I was acting as the distraction, Artemis herself had gotten into position and like clockwork I yelled out. "Stark follow up!" And I charged in with the arrow swirling in my hands as I spun it around to block the magical wire.

Stark being superhuman with his warrior training instantly reacted and came around the left with his great axe filled with a spark of power with the demon leaped into the air to dodge the powerful blow from Stark that created a massive ravine like twenty meters long in the ground.

"A warrior without any magic has no right to touch a demon like myself... You should just let me kill you swiftly to save this embarrass-" The demon was silenced as three arrows slammed home into the demon courtesy of Artemis the goddess of the Hunt.

An arrow through each eye, and then an arrow straight through the forehead. And with that, the demon began breaking down into dark dust with it's death.

'That's one down.' I thought before skipping backward with Artemis's arrow making loud crashing noises as I blocked several fast spears of crystalline blood that sought to pierce me.

Then a massive pillar of mana cut off the demon making him fly back into the air with his blood tendrils pushing him around as Fern, Friren's mage apprentice pushed him back with her own offensive magic.

"Shit got tagged a bit." I muttered with a frown as I realized the sharp burning sensation on my stomach area was where the shattered crystal blood constructs had cut me a bit when I destroyed his blood tendrils.

"You alright?" I heard Stark ask and I took in the younger teen who had good bits of his flesh lopped off, but thankfully he hadn't lost any limbs or anything.

I nodded and I nudged my head at the other demon. "I will be fine, get his attention and me and my partner will harry him with our archery."

Stark after a moment of thought, nodded in agreement and ran to re-engage the demon first by throwing a good sized rock bigger than my head at a blur that smashed into a hastily raised-up blood tendril.

Meanwhile, I faded from the fight falling into the darkness of the shadows of the partially wrecked castle and let the demon forget about me and I knew Artemis was likewise waiting for me to use her divine symbol in her arrow to open up things.

Fern and the Demon kept up their battle, with magic blasting through the castle and destroying it. But there were no flames or otherwise mass destruction. No Fern's destruction beam magic would just make whatever it hit just evaporate basically.

But after a couple of minutes, the main underling of Aura the demon Sage of Destruction had his back turned towards me. So first I knocked a normal arrow on my war-bow, and then I held Artemis Arrow in my off fingers to be used as a second arrow.

A soft noise rang out as my mundane but fast-flying arrow shot through the air! It raced between two crystal tendrils of blood and then slammed home into his shoulder making his arm lock up.

Then abruptly a full dozen arrows likewise shot at high speed into him with all six aiming at lethal points on the demon but as obviously expecting a follow-up to my attack the demon completely covered himself in a barrier of the crystal blood tendrils.

A loud crashing noise rang out as the divine arrow I had knocked as he blocked Artemis's arrows was launched at full power. The divine weapon shot through the magical blood and the weeks of training from Artemis paid off as the arrow slammed home into the back of the demon's head.

'It's funny how the demons and monsters of this world fade away into ashes like they do in Danmachi... But this world is is inferior it's not even funny because the monsters don't drop a single thing.' I thought as I came out of the shadows and summoned Artemis's arrow back into my hand.

All the while Artemis joined me at my side as we walked towards Fern and Stark. 

But even as we made it over there... I realized something troubling, 'Fuck! Frieren is probably killing Aura right now! Nooo I am missing so much Excellia!' I mentally screamed.
