Lords Tutorial Chapter 8

After using some Glintsone sorcery to blow up the anti-siege weapons that were on the Bridge of Sacrifice, I then killed the couple dozen soldiers atop the bridge and looted the rune scraps, arrows, and other things before I headed towards the other side of the bridge.

And the Bridge of Sacrifice was a lot bigger in reality than it was in the game honestly. As it was literally the bridge between two different continents even if the continents were well within sight of one another.

It still took a good fifteen minutes of riding Torrent across the stone bridge to get to the other side and onto the Weeping Peninsula.

"Well... There is Irina." I muttered as I saw the wreck of a carriage that was wrecked by the Misbeggoten race who had broken their chains of slavery on this continent with how all of Marika's children decided to destroy the near worldwide empire.

I ignored the Site of Grace beckoning towards me a good way to my right and I came up towards the wrecked carriage leaning agaisnt a flat part of the carriage was Irina of Castle Morne.

"Ah hello? Do I hear a noble knight approach on a steed?" Irina's soft voice spoke as her blind eyes try to pinpoint the source of the clopping noises of Torrent's feet.

"I am no knight young lady. I am a wizard though if that counts." I said with amusement as I hopped off Torrent and my amusement died as I saw the corpse of three armored knights mangled beyond belief laid across the ground with two large Misbeggoten corpses that had clearly been killed at great effort by the knights.

"I see. Then, my name is Irina of Castle Morne, and I implore yo,u great wizard. Could you please pass along a letter to my father? He is the Lord Commander of Castle Morne."

Irina was a soft noble beauty to put bluntly, her long blond hair was done up in a conservative ponytail that went down her back, and she wore a completely covering dull red dress that covered her surprisingly voluptuous form.

But as I looked at her... I realized something with horror in my heart. 'Wait... Irina doesn't die when I leave. She becomes Hyetta, the woman who eats the Shabiri Grapes-Eyes that link her to the Frenzy Flame!'

For a split moment, I actually considered killing her and saving us all the agony of dealing with the Frenzy Flame, which was something... Even though I had a way to deal with in order to not have to kill Melina, I was still rightfully scared of being cursed by the Three Fingers.

But I just shoved the thought down as I spoke kindly. "Sure young lady, I can do that for you. However... You cannot remain here, Misbeggoten fill these lands like a pestilence who are trying to conquer it in the name of the Crucible."

Irina gave a helpless smile as she said quietly. "I cannot leave as I must wait for my father to leave the castle that has rightfully as you said. Been taken over mostly by the Misbegotten."

I gave a small grunt before I shook my head. Then I popped my neck and said firmly. "My name is Jake Bariss, and I shall not leave a blind woman sitting on the edge of the road when all kinds of monsters are running about. Now come on, I am taking you to a safe place and then your father can deal with you when the misbegotten are put down."

Although I had a bit of a fear that my mercurial master of Glinstone sorcery was going to be a bitch about this. I still wanted to help Irina and Sellen's cellar was the safest place I knew for Irina.

So without waiting for an answer from the noble lady. I picked her up in a princess carry. Putting those runes I had invested in my body to good use to then got onto Torrent who gave a snort at the added weight of Irina in my arms.

"Wait, I don-" Irina weakly spoke out but I just shifted her so she was riding on Torrent in front of me with her soft bottom in my lap as I cut her off and said firmly.

"No Irina, you are being saved and you have no right to resist," I said with some teasing in my voice making her still as I squeezed Torrent with my legs to get him moving back across the Bridge of Sacrifice so we could move back up to Limgrave.

As there was a good ride back to Sorcerer Sellen waiting for us. Not to mention the fact that I needed to give Sellen the Royal House Scroll so I could learn a couple more magical spells.

Spells that I definitely wanted before I went and tried to fight the Leonine Misbeggoten who was rather strong.

"Jake I- You don't have to go out of your way to-"

I silenced Irina with a sqeeze around her waist as I said calmly. "It is no trouble, Irina. Doing what is right especially when its literally no effort on my part is no trial."

And Irina remained quiet for a moment before I felt a small soft hand squeeze around my own as I had unequipped my gauntlets when I picked her up so I didn't hurt her or anything.

"Then I thank you Jake Bariss for the aid." She said quietly and our trip back to the continent of Limgrave went well. Along with the ride itself back to Sorcerer Sellen's Cellar as I had just cleared out the roads and such in the last few hours so there wasn't any issues besides the simple travel time to get there.

Torrent gently climbed over the rubble of the shattered building that was over Sellen's cellar and after dismissing Torrent back into his ring I spoke gently. "Irina, we are going to need to go down some stairs. Do you mind if I carry you?"

Irina gave a wane smile and said kindly. "How about you just hold my hand and we go slowly. We are not wedded so you shoudn't be so hands-on with a noble lady Jake." Irina finished with a bit of her own teasing making me chuckle as I began leading her down into the dark cellar.

After bringing her into the cellar and opening the large metal door that lead into Sellen's room filled with glintstone books and crystals. I saw Sellen give me a long look past her stone mask before she looked at Irina and said flatly.

"Jake, my foolish little disciple. What are you doing bringing your little Finger Maiden here?"

And now came the hard part... Convincing Sellen to let Irina to stay here under her protection.

But thankfully I had a trump card in knowing where her true body was back in the Weeping Peninsula.
