Lord's Tutorial Chapter 10

Torrent's footsteps was a steadying chorus as I made my way back into the Weeping Peninsula, and as I made my way past the Bridge of Sacrifice. I could see the Forest Lookout Tower in the distance to the south west.

'Hmm, maybe I should make a pitstop at the tower for the hand ballista.' I mused and then I was reminded about the Spell Drake Talisman that was a bit further north west of the tower as well that was guarded by that giant Runebear.

And after a moment of thought... I decided. "Ok fuck the Runebear until I clear all of the Weeping Peninsula, its the hidden boss honestly. But having a hand held rocket launcher when I can get some enchanted great bolts like the lightning and explosive great bolts would be very useful obviously.

Without much fanfare I quickly grabbed the morning star from the destroyed caravan's chest after dealing with the rabid dogs via a couple of spells and then when I hit an intersection on the road's I took a left to head back to the west and then up to the north as I headed up to the Forest Lookout Tower.

As I got closer to the tower, I took out a shield to cover my chest and I spoke to Torrent. "Alright we gotta go fast you hear? The assholes up there in the tower have giant ballista and we I don't want to get impaled on a three feet long arrow."

Torrent huffed and pawed the ground in clear agreement at how he was totally going to go as fast as possible. And I coudn't help but wonder if Melina was watching me currently.

But regardless, I gave Torrent a squeeze around the waist and he charged forward!

His footsteps carried him across the clearing that seperated the forest from the tower all to quick and it was only as we got more than halfway past the clearing and too the tower.

Did the common foot soldier's realize I was charging for them and seeing them slowly scramble to the three large ballista on the tower, I called out loudly. "Order's from Lord Godrick! Order's from Lord Godrick to the soldier's of Castle Morne!"

The soldier's paused at my words and seeing as I was wearing a set of Godrick's knight armor, they were obviously very weary of shooting at me for no good reason.

And so they foolishly allowed me and Torrent close to the point that the emaciated hound that was in the broken down tower managed to stir itself and it barked furiously at us. And at the hounds barking the man at the top of the tower shouted. "Its a Tarnished! Kill him!"

Which made me wonder if the damned dog was capable of smelling the fact I was Tarnished somehow. But regardless I jumped off Torrent and with the brand new morning star I just got. I bashed in the already half-dead dog's head and with some glinstone sorcery dealt with the soldier's as they climbed sluggishly down the tower.

"That... Was rather underwhelming." I muttered as I killed all the soldier's easily due to how the tower itself was so rotten that they had to very gingerly climb down the rusted ladder that was actually missing a couple steps.

But either way, I then made my way up the tower and grabbed the Hand Ballista without any issue and from there... I reviewed my mental map of the Weeping Peninsula as I wondered what I should go do or go get first.

"Dealing with the Frenzy Flame Village sounds like a pain in the ass... I rather not deal with it at all, but getting the spell there could be useful. And there is also a Sacred Tear there as well." I muttered as I chewed on the thought.

As it was also going to be dangerous in dealing with the literally entirely corrupted and insane population of the town that had been driven mad by the Frenzy Flame. To say nothing of the population of massive rat's some of whome were even bigger then myself that were enhanced by the Frenzy Flames.

"I do have the glinstone arc spell to deal with multiple enemies... But I rather wait till after I deal with the rest of the Weeping Peninsula before I fight a small army." I muttered before nodding as I made a game plan.

Next I was going to the Demi-Human Ruins to clear them out and get myself the Demi-Human Queen staff for myself along with the Faith Crystal Tear. Along with clearing the Tombsward Catacombs and the rest of the places at the northwest of the continent.

Then I could loop around the continent as I helped my master Sellen by freeing her body, dealing with the Ancient Hero of Zamor, and the Erd Tree Avatar before I went to Castle Morne to do... Alot of things, there was alot to do and things to gather there.

So with a bit of an actual game plan now. I summoned up Torrent and I headed further west and down into the thick forests below.

After a bit though, I found a Site of Grace and I went over to it and sat down with the golden orb of light filling me with strenght and healing the weariness from me.

"Haa... Not much for conversation in these parts." I muttered with a groan as I mentally added the Sacred Tear and Golden Seed I had previously collected to my Estus Flask.

Then just to spite me, I jumped as Melina came out of the shadows with a flicker of energy. "Then pray tell. May I be of good conversation?" She spoke with an amused huff.

My lips twitched at her being so shameless but I nodded and said calmly. "Yup, you are welcome to sit with this hapless Tarnished I suppose." 

The beautiful brunette sat down, and I couldn't help but stare at her single closed eye. And I wanted to ask so many questions... Like if she was the gloam-eyed queen or something. But in reality, I just shook my head as that wouldn't make a difference for now.

But then Melina asked calmly. "When do you plan to go after your first Demigod then? Seems odd to be here in the Weeping Peninsula now if you are hunting them as a Tarnished."

I chuckled and shrugged before I said evenly. "That is very true, but you, yourself know that I am rather weak... No, right now I am making a quick pass through for the next couple weeks, probably through this continent as I head towards important places where I can gain a lot of runes before I challenge Godrick." 

Melina hummed in thought before she spoke casually. "I see, but you do realize that the Runes of common being's no matter how accumulated with put you on the level of a Demigod, correct?" 

My lips twitched at her brutal reminder that no matter what I did. This was still a 'Darksouls' world. And in this world, even at max level. You were still below the greatest of foes's strength and power. 

No in this world, what led a Tarnished to killing a Demigod was skill, cunning, and trickery, allowing them to rip the Great Rune from a Demigod to elevate themselves.

I took a breath and said gruffly. "I am well aware Melina... But I do have some idea's on how to kill Godrick beyond just bashing his head in with a rock." 

After all. I was going to be right around the waygate leading to Caelid. If I got some Scarlet Rot arrow's and such. That could really fuck him up for sure.

Not to mention some other idea's I had.

Either way, Melina nodded in acceptance at seeing my determination to make an attempt on Godrick's life in the next month at least.

So she said in a more business like tone. "Very well, you do have Runes for strengthening, let me take your hand and imbue you with strength."
