I haven't created a single artwork in Blender for almost six months, so it felt really good making something again.

I came across this illustration on Reddit by Oddarette in September (she is extremely underrated, go follow her), and I remixed it.

Actually I started this project in February, but I stopped pretty early on (after 45 mins😁) because I couldn't make the light look like on the reference image, but honestly it was just a stupid excuse. Eventually I found a cool way to make it look right.

I had some challenges with the lamp, but came up with new techniques to solve them. Although it was nothing compared to the lava.

The lava was pretty difficult to make, I tried 4 techniques, remade it several times in the span of 1 month. Few weeks ago I almost posted it here, but I realized it doesn't look quite right, so I started my almost never ending journey of fixing the lava and fighting with my perfectionism.

Now I checked I worked on this project for 60 hours, geez (usually it's done under 15 hours)

It was pretty nerve wrecking working on one thing for that long (everything else was done under one week). I got really bored of it but finally I'm done with it‍😌.
