I was commissioned by @nateschmold to turn his drawing (see below) into a 3D animation, for his hip hop band called @ghost.cartridge. Took me 5hrs. I recorded the whole process, but it got messed up somehow.
The ghost has the same color as the world, that's why it's "see through" but also not. The outline is made with the lineart modifier. I applied an envelope modifier so at the bottom the line is thicker and added a lil bit of wave distortion effect which makes it look more organic. I drew the face, the shadow and the "reflections" with grease pencil.
The bubble is made of metaballs, then I converted them to mesh so I could apply the lineart modifier to it. I converted a few edges to grease pencil to make those bubble details.
I applied noise modifier to the shadow, the face and the bubble details so they wiggle a bit.
